Oaxaca to Mexico City

We traveled most of the day today from Oaxaca to Mexico City by way of Puebla. We were on the bus for 8 hours. This is our last big day of being on the bus. All sites we visit for now are close by. We are tired from getting up so early each morning, but we have been having a good time visiting with all my old missionary buddies. We have taken tons of pictures. Mexico City is really a big city and much different from the rest of Mexico that we have visited thus far. We have a very nice hotel room here and we don't have to be out and ready to go until 8:30 tomorrow morning. We have been getting up at 4:30 almost every morning the whole trip. This really has been a very choice experience and I have even been able to communicate with people in Spanish much more than I thought I would have been able to do. It has been so much fun, I'm determined to study my Spanish so that when Mom and I go to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico next fall that I will be able to speak much more fluently.

Oaxaca

We arrived in Oaxaca this afternnon after two long days on a bus. Last night we arrived late in Vera Cruz at a nice hotel. We went out to eat down the street about 2 miles and when we finished eating the rain strated coming down hard and we walked in the rain for the two miles back to the Hotel. It rain all night with winds up to 80 MPH. When we woke up at 4 AM to get on the bus we had no power and there was a 1/2 inch of water all over the floor. Wwe had to get dressed and pack up in the dark. Fortunately found our flashlight after about 10 minutes of searching. Our suitcases were on the floor so much of our clothing was wet. It was an interesting morning. Tonight we went down into the city square and had a wonderful time wandering through the streets seeing the sites and so forth. We had a nice mexican meal with some of our companions and took a taxi ride back to the hotel. They have Internet in the office only that they are allowing us to use. We are sorry that we dont write more often, but they do´nt have internet in the rooms and we cant make phone calls. It looks like you wont have the baby till we get home. Mom says that she misses you and we think of all you kids often. We brag about you to all of our friends here. We saw 2 missionaries tonight. That was cool. Please tell everyone that we are doing OK. Call grandma at 435-283-4562 and check in on grandpa for me and write back to tell me how they are going since they haven`t written me yet. Make sure you have them write to this e-mail address as I donçt have time to wade through all my e-mail on my work email account.
We love you and will try to write more later if we get a chance. Im sure we will have Internet on Thursday night as we will be in Mexico City then.

Love Dad & Mom.

Mexico

We just arrived at our room in Villa Hermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. The bed is almost as hard as the floor. It is verrry humid here. I say a lizard climbing on the wall in the Hotel lobby. We arrived at about 11:30PM. We head out tomorrow morning at 8:15 AM on a 10 hour Bus ride to Paleque. It was nice seeing so many missionary companions that I haven't seen for 30 or more years.

The ride into Villa Hermosa on the plane from Monterrey was quite exciting. We flew through a lightning storm. At one point the plane dropped sveral feet and your most let out a little scream. She thought that she was on the tower of terror ride at Disneyland I guess. But all went well and we and our baggage all arrived in one piece.

We took very few pictures today, but I hope to have time to take some tomorrow. I don't know if we will have Internet everywhere we ggo, but we do here. I'll keep updating my blog site rather than send pictures through e-mail as your hotmail does not accept them because they are too large.

Take care, We love you.

Dad

Mexico Vacation - Day One

We started our vacation by driving to Las Vegas and stayling at the Tropicana. Our room was quite a surprise. It has a huge living room with windows that overlook the Las vegas Strip both on the North and on the South. We leave tomorrow afternoon from McCarrin Airport to Villa Hermosa, Mexico.

Just Because...

It was fun to get a surprise at my door. When I opened the door I thought this was for a neighbor that was'nt home and he wanted me to take it to them. Not this time. I get to keep this one. Thanks Robert for thinking of me. I love you too!
